GeneFirst wanted to bring their R&D and production teams together in a single facility that is tailor made to their fast-growing diagnostics business.
Kadans offered to deliver GeneFirst a bespoke facility at their rapidly flourishing Abingdon Science Park and Bulb supported them by designing & delivering the laboratories to meet their required regulatory compliance.
The ground floor lab area was sub-divided into various research, production, and assembly rooms with different pressure gradients to ensure strict containment and prevent cross-contamination. Transfer windows were installed to support the process flow and material transfer between spaces.
For visual impact and connectivity, glazed windows were installed throughout.
On the first floor, a mix of open plan, individual offices & a board room were created together with a spacious kitchen/breakout area.
GeneFirst were absolutely delighted with the outcome and could not wait to move into their pristine new facility.
