Project Goal

Resolution Therapeutics is a biotechnology company developing macrophage cell therapy to treat inflammatory organ disease. The company was founded following a productive collaboration between Edinburgh’s Centre for Regenerative Medicine, the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service, and Syncona Investment Management Limited.

Resolution Therapeutics’ multidisciplinary team brings together a diverse set of skills to pursue their mission.  Their initial focus is chronic liver disease.  Resolution Therapeutics (RTx) are developing a macrophage cell therapy product to treat patients at risk of liver decompensation, thus helping them avoid the need for a liver transplant.

RTx approached Bulb for assistance in expanding their laboratory premises and associated office space.

We also helped Resolution Therapeutics in the design and delivery of brand new laboratories, click below to see the results.

Laboratory Case Study

Skills & Results

The creation of additional laboratory premises in existing CAT A office space, to include five CL2 laboratories, open plan office space, three meeting rooms, breakout area, tea point area and telephone booths.

To accommodate the supplementary ventilation, a new on floor plant room was created to house the air handling unit & provide gas storage. On receipt of planning consent, windows were removed to install louvres & provide the supply air & extraction from the plant room. A new air conditioning system was then installed throughout the laboratory area.

The laboratory fit out included Cat 5 water, small power & data distribution, part glazed partitions & new laboratory furniture. The office areas provided with new carpets, furniture & feature lighting.
