Engitix Phase 2

A fast-growing drug discovery company, Engitix is deconvoluting the role of the human extracellular matrix (ECM) in healthy and diseased states to uncover new targets for fibrosis and solid tumours and to support the discovery and development of novel classes of therapeutics.

Our task was to design & deliver company’s expansion project adjacent to their existing facility in White City. The design & conversion of office space into a high quality CL2 laboratory & stylish office accommodation.

We delivered Engitix’s brand new R&D facility during pandemic (2020), the company since grew rapidly and required additional laboratory and office space.

The new space was adjacent to their phase 1 office. We needed to move their existing office to the new space and plan a compliant CL2 laboratory in the vacated area, doubling up the lab footprint.

It entailed detailed logistical planning to minimise disruption to existing research operations, the phasing of various works and keeping to a strict delivery programme.

New laboratories involved an open general-purpose lab, tissue culture, automation & microscopy rooms with a walking cold room.

Laboratory services included appropriate ventilation, vinyl flooring, technical lighting, vulcathene drainage, industrial gases distribution and monitoring.

The office area was designed to accommodate the extra headcounts utilising a modern, open, and collaborative style of working. We value engineered the project to maximize the use of existing desks & feature tiered seating.
