Canary Wharf Group are a commercial and residential property company who, as owner, manager and developer, is responsible for the regeneration of 128 acres of the once-derelict Docklands district of East London.

Their purpose is to transform urban spaces into extraordinary environments.

AviadoBio is a leading gene therapy company with a focus on two of the most debilitating and life-threatening neurodegenerative disorders – frontotemporal dementia (FTD) and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).

Our task:

Bulb was appointed to provide high quality CL2 laboratories, open plan office space and breakout area.

Canary Wharf Group commissioned Bulb to design and deliver this superb R&D facility in Canary Wharf for their tenant, AviadoBio.

The facility includes CL2 laboratories located within the west wing of the floor and exceptional office space within the east wing.

The two large research and production spaces feature functional laboratories such as tissue culture, PCR, Plasmid, and Cell Production for various activities and support rooms such as a dedicated cryogenics & freezer room, stores and glass wash. Services include pumped drainage into a vulcathene stack resistant to chemicals and specialized gases and mechanical ventilation for containment and comfort. A thorough equipment audit and furniture placement have delivered a perfectly bespoke solution for AviadoBio. Each laboratory space has stunning views overlooking Canary Wharf.

The office space in the east wing is a well-designed area that includes a reception area, meeting facilities, a large open plan office area, and an impressive breakout area. The office is characterised by its exposed ceiling services and brand colours, creating a vibrant and professional atmosphere.
